I believe Ramgarh has a unique opportunity to grow beyond its industrial base.
Patratu Valley has become a popular tourist destination, and with better tourism infrastructure, local transport, hotels, restaurants, and recreational activities, it could create many jobs for local residents. At the same time, encouraging MSMEs, skill development, and better urban planning can help young people find opportunities closer to home.
A balanced approach that supports industry, tourism, and environmental conservation would benefit the entire district.
Every year, the State Budget outlines spending on sectors like education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and rural development. Since resources are limited, it’s important to prioritize projects that have the greatest impact on people’s lives.
If you could recommend one area for increased government spending, what would it be and why?
Jharkhand has traditionally been known for its coal and mining industries, but I believe renewable energy is becoming equally important for the state’s future. Solar power, rooftop installations, biomass, and small-scale renewable projects could help meet growing energy demand while supporting sustainable development.
What opportunities do you see for renewable energy in Jharkhand?
We’re seeing a similar situation in Chas, Bokaro.
Whenever there’s heavy rainfall or strong winds, electricity goes off for a few hours. Thankfully, it usually comes back the same day, but voltage fluctuations have become more common than before. It worries me because we have computers and other electronic appliances at home.
I hope maintenance work continues even after the monsoon.
