As the capital of Jharkhand, Ranchi has seen rapid growth in education, healthcare, IT services, retail, and infrastructure. With more people moving to the city every year, challenges like traffic congestion, waste management, water supply, and urban planning have also become more noticeable.
At the same time, Ranchi has the potential to become a leading hub for startups, tourism, and technology in eastern India.
What do you think should be the city’s top development priority over the next few years?
I’m planning to start a business in Jharkhand and have been exploring different sectors. With growing industries, improving infrastructure, and increasing digital adoption, it feels like there are opportunities in manufacturing, logistics, food processing, tourism, and technology.
If you were starting a business today, which sector would you choose and why?
As a daily commuter, I think citizens should also play a role.
Whenever we notice dangerous potholes, damaged bridges, or incomplete road work, we should report them with photos and the exact location. It helps local media and authorities identify problems faster.
I’m happy to see discussions like this because infrastructure improves when both the government and citizens stay engaged.
Hopefully, ongoing projects are completed on time and with better construction quality.
