Many government departments invite public feedback before implementing major projects, preparing development plans, or introducing new policies. However, many citizens are unaware of these consultation opportunities or don’t know how to share their views.

Have you ever participated in a public consultation, public hearing, or Gram Sabha meeting? What can be done to encourage greater public participation?

I attended a Gram Sabha meeting in my village where residents discussed priorities like road repairs, drinking water, and sanitation. It gave people an opportunity to raise concerns directly and suggest solutions.

I think public consultations become more effective when information is shared well in advance and meetings are held at convenient times. Encouraging participation from women, youth, and senior citizens can also help ensure that decisions reflect the needs of the entire community.
